Website re-launch

The re-launch of the Provincial Court website in December, 2014 marks the conclusion of an ongoing project designed to ensure the public can get easy-to-understand information about how the Court works.

This project reflects our continuing effort to ensure that people interested in the Provincial Court can find the information they need and have confidence that the Court is accessible, fair, and innovative. It is one of several initiatives we have undertaken in recent years to be more accessible and open.

Recent changes include:

  • Updating information with current legislation, resources and court data
  • Replacing legal jargon with plain language, simple explanations and a less formal writing style
  • Making site navigation more intuitive
  • Providing specific navigation guidance for groups of users, such as media, teachers, students, lawyers, and people appearing in court as litigants or witnesses
  • Adding material and links to help people representing themselves in court
  • Offering information and videos about recent innovations to improve the Court’s service
  • Launching an eNews service with short weekly items of interest about the Court and
    related resources.

Subscribe to our eNews service and receive short updates on:

  • trial scheduling reform
  • other new initiatives in the court system
  • ADR and legal assistance resources
  • less well-known aspects of judicial duties
  • links to Provincial Court decisions of interest

The website now includes an anonymous survey. You can help improve the site further by providing feedback on how well it meets your online needs. Please explore the website and give us your feedback through the survey.
