On June 23, 2018 Bill Veenstra, President of the Canadian Bar Association BC Branch (CBABC), awarded its President’s Medal to Justice Thomas Crabtree, former Chief Judge of the Provincial Court of BC, for his outstanding contributions to the legal profession and the administration of justice in British Columbia.
This month, Courthouse Libraries BC (“CLBC”) will add a new initiative to the wide array of services it provides to lawyers and the public – a program to connect junior lawyers to mentorship opportunities.

BC’s Judicial Council has published its 2017 Annual Report, containing some surprising statistics and several “firsts”. In keeping with the BC Provincial Court’s reputation for innovation, in 2017 the Judicial Council launched the first online application system for judicial appointments in Canada.
