BC’s courthouses comprise a quirky collection of buildings, ranging from graceful 19th century edifices to soulless strip mall units. This is the second in a series of eNews articles featuring paintings that celebrate BC’s courthouses and the artists who have captured their character and spirit.
As Jane Austen might say, “It is a truth universally acknowledged that British Columbia has some very beautiful courthouses.” This fact inspired art enthusiast Judge Gregory Koturbash to begin a collection of paintings of BC Courthouses, and to take up a brush himself. This eNews article features some of his collection and the artists who painted them.

Courts in Canada are working with the Office of the Commissioner of Federal Judicial Affairs (FJA) and the National Judicial Institute (NJI) to support judicial reform in Ukraine. Early in October, the BC Provincial Court hosted a delegation of Ukrainian judges and other justice system personnel interested in court communications.
