You sometimes hear people say that our judges and courts aren’t accountable, but that’s not true. Both individual judges and the courts they serve in are accountable for their decisions and actions in many ways.
Going to court can be a nerve-wracking experience, and even a frightening one, but knowing what to expect can make it a little less painful. To help you prepare to go to court, BC Provincial Court judges and judicial justices have written a series of articles describing what happens at various types of proceedings in Provincial Court and offering suggestions on how to prepare for them.

Want to use the internet in the public spaces in a BC courthouse? The Court Services Branch of BC’s Ministry of Justice reports that it has completed the project begun in 2015 to install WiFi services in courthouses around the province.
The Judicial Council of BC is inviting lawyers with at least five years’ experience practising law as a member of the Law Society of BC to apply for appointment as a Provincial Court judicial justice. Lawyers with less legal practice experience may be considered if they have a range of related experience.
